Birth Control
All non-grandfathered health insurance plans must comply with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) mandate to provide cost-free coverage for various preventative services. These services are intended to prevent disease and promote good health in individuals and the population. Some preventive services covered by the ACA include vaccinations, counseling on tobacco use and alcohol abuse, screenings for cancer and other conditions, and contraceptives for women.
All contraceptive methods approved by the FDA must be covered without cost-sharing, including co-pays or deductibles. This means that, under Sentinel One Health’s ACA plans, birth control is fully covered for our members.
