Mental Health Services

The Affordable Care Act’s Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act requires insurance policies to provide coverage for mental health services. This means that if your insurance plan covers outpatient visits, hospitalization, prescription drugs, and other medical services, it must also cover mental health services.

Birth Control

All non-grandfathered health insurance plans must comply with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) mandate to provide cost-free coverage for various preventative services. These services are intended to prevent disease and promote good health in individuals and the population. Some preventive services covered by the ACA include vaccinations, counseling on tobacco use and alcohol abuse, screenings for cancer and other conditions, and contraceptives for women.

All contraceptive methods approved by the FDA must be covered without cost-sharing, including co-pays or deductibles. This means that, under Sentinel One Health’s ACA plans, birth control is fully covered for our members.

Other Essential Benefits

At Sentinel One Health, we work with the biggest insurance providers in the nation to provide various Essential Benefits. We understand that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) can be confusing, so we’re here to help.

Premium Tax Credits are Available for Those Who Qualify

Premium tax credits are available to eligible individuals and families who enroll in a health insurance plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace. The amount of the credit is based on the household income and the size of the family. The premium tax credit can be used to lower the monthly premiums for the health insurance plan.

In addition, the premium tax credit can be used to pay for other out-of-pocket costs associated with the health insurance plan, such as deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. The premium tax credit is available to households with incomes between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level.
